Abstract
An investigation was carried out to study the effect of nitrogen with combination of phosphorus and potassium on growth, flower yield and quality of four indigenous cut flower rose varieties namely Pusa Gaurav.Dr Bharat Ram, Arjun and Nehru Centenary. The variety Arjun produced highest length and diameter of flowering shoot.Maximum cut flower yield 425.41 per m2 was produced in the variety Dr Bharat Ram.Growth and flower yield was increased significantly with application of optimum level of nitrogen in combination with phosphorus and potassium.Maximum diameter of flower stem and bub, diameter of flower, number of petals per flower and flower with stem length of 60cm and above were recorded in all the four varieties of rose with application of 9 g N + 8 g P2O5 + 8gK2 O/m2/week through top dressing.Application of 9gN + 8gP2O5 + 8gK2 O/m2/week through top dressing.Application of 9gN + 8gP2O5 + 8gK2O/m2/week was considered the best dose for achieving higher yield and better quality cut flower rose grown under polyhouse conditions.
