Abstract

A method for preparation of dihydrotagetone alcohols from Tagetes Minuta oil by solventsolvent partitioning of Tagetes Minuta oil, evaporating solvent and isolating dihydrotagetone, reacting the dihydrotagetone so isolated with a Grignard reagent in a known manner, extracting the resultant mixture with a polar solvent and evaporating and drying the solvent to obtain dihydrogetone alcohol.
